Integrated Mitotic Stem Cell

About the Project


The Integrated Mitotic Stem Cell is a data driven model and visualization tool that captures a holistic view of human cell division.
​

This model transforms microscopy images of 15 individual organelles into an integrated representation of the undifferentiated human induced pluripotent stem cell (hIPSC) at each major stage of mitosis.

Our communication goals were similar to a preprint publication. We wanted to get the scientific observations and data out to the community as quickly as possible to foster collaborations and additional insight.

We used animation illustration and embedded data to communicate our findings and observations directly in the web application.

This interactive framework can be used in the future for additional data releases and scientific stories.
